Our team recently wrapped up an inspiring project with the North American Primate Sanctuary Alliance (NAPSA) as part of the Chimpanzees in Need<\/em> (CiN) initiative. This effort focused on creating a strategic plan to guide the successful re-homing of captive chimpanzees in accredited and ethical sanctuaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Through a series of thoughtfully designed and facilitated strategy sessions, informed by key partner interviews, NAPSA and its partners are co-developing a roadmap that prioritizes the long-term care and well-being of captive chimpanzees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Highlights and key deliverables of the process included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n These efforts have led to a deeper alignment on future aspirations for chimpanzee sanctuary placement, creating a strong foundation for collaboration moving forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The draft framework of the strategic plan reflects an adaptive approach to the evolving priorities and needs of sanctuaries, including an increased focus on long-term resource sustainability, expanded partnership opportunities, and refined processes for communication and decision-making across the alliance. Our role in providing project management, relationship-building, and facilitation support was instrumental in driving these outcomes and ensuring the project\u2019s overall success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This project has strengthened NAPSA\u2019s network of sanctuaries, funders, and advocates capacity to envision and implement a future where every chimpanzee can live in sanctuary care, reinforcing the commitment to compassionate and ethical practices for primate welfare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
