Engaging with California Fixed Gear Fisheries to Discuss Marine Life Entanglements

Strategic Earth is working with the Ocean Protection Council, National Marine Fisheries Service, and The Nature Conservancy to gain a more thorough understanding of the opportunities, challenges, and possible entry points for involving California fixed-gear fisheries in a meaningful and productive discussion about large whale and sea turtle entanglements in California state waters. Our team will engage in a series of informal conversations with fishing leadership and managing agencies to share available information and strengthen a shared understanding of the complex issue of marine life entanglements in fixed fishing gear.
