Welcome to the Strategic Earth Community of Practice

At Strategic Earth, we understand the value of heart-centered relationships and social-emotional skills-building in creating transformative change in our workplaces and communities. This year, we are excited to place more intention on helping you to grow your skills and confidence in courageous leadership, compassionate communications, and inclusive collaboration. We are expanding our Community of Practice (CoP) with new programming in 2025!

Our CoP is a living practice where professionals from all backgrounds can come together to grow new skills, share stories of wisdom, transform everyday challenges into opportunities, and find support in community. Our programs are designed to offer a rich learning experience by combining participatory engagement, deep self-reflection, and impactful skill-building exercises. The core competencies that we will share are based on our experience and continuous study of the works of thought leaders such as Brené Brown, Daniel Goleman, David Cooperrider, Kristin Neff, Marshall Rosenberg, and so many others. Our CoP is grounded in the principles and philosophies that we ourselves study, practice, and apply in our work everyday at Strategic Earth.

Our team brings more than 30 years of experience developing and implementing intentional, inclusive, and effective approaches to community outreach and engagement– rooted in our commitment to building and maintaining trust-based relationships. It’s our process that sets us apart from other facilitators and public participation practitioners. We are proud of our approach, and we’re all about sharing what we’ve learned with you.

What We Offer

Strategic Earth’s Community of Practice offers three opportunities for growing your confidence and capabilities for leading wholeheartedly in the workplace and beyond.

Compassionate Communicators Meetups

Our quarterly virtual meetups are designed to create a space for open dialogue, learning, and connection. During each session, we engage in conversations that center around trust, equity, identities, mindful self-awareness, and empathy in professional relationships. These meetups are a continuation of our 2024 CoP gatherings and will continue to be a space where participants set the theme of each conversation by bringing forward their experiences and stories. The Strategic Earth team will hold space for these complex experiences while offering helpful tips and tools based on the core competencies of our work and our experiences with clients, teams, and communities. New! Leading with Vulnerability Workshops

This 2-day 3-hour virtual interactive workshop is designed to help professionals understand the power of vulnerability to foster trust, inclusion, and deeper connection. We’ve distilled our highly-regarded workshop series to the IAP2 community into a few easy-to-use strategies that will support your growth as a compassionate communicator and leader in your team, organization, or community. This workshop is a great way to explore the core competencies of Strategic Earth’s work by trying them out in real time through discussion and skills-building exercises. This workshop will set you on a course to put these learnings into practice, giving you the confidence to uphold your commitment to leading your work with compassion and vulnerability. New! Compassionate Communicators Cohort & Certificate Program

This 12-week virtual Learning Cohort combines six structured training sessions, six practice and dialogue sessions, and three individual coaching sessions to deliver personalized curriculum and an intentional community to support your growth as a compassionate communicator and leader within your team, organization, and community. With a focus on real-world application, case study exchanges, reflective skills-building exercises, and practitioner insights, this program fosters accountability and encourages deep integration of the commitment to vulnerability in our work. This program takes a dive deep into learning and integrating Strategic Earth’s core competencies into your professional practices, with the added benefit of peer-to-peer support.
