Strategic Earth worked with DeepGreen to prepare for and facilitate a three-day workshop to inform an environmental impact assessment (EIA) for harvesting deep-sea polymetallic nodules. Our team created a comprehensive meeting design to support a science-focused discussion with researchers and other deep-sea experts to help DeepGreen develop a work plan for completing an environmental impact statement by 2021. This was the first of a series of planning meetings focused on orienting DeepGreen staff to the best available scientific information and processes for developing an environmental impact statement.
