It’s Employee Appreciation Day, and what better way to appreciate our Strategic Earth team than by getting to know us better? Here’s what you may not have known about Rachelle Fisher, our greatly valued Senior Associate, mom of two, and lover of chocolate chip cookies.
What are you passionate about?
Chocolate chip cookies. There is nothing better than the perfect chocolate chip cookie… crunchy on the outside, undercooked in the middle, the perfect balance of salty and sweet. I love to try chocolate chip cookies everywhere I go. The perfect cookie is hard to find, but it’s out there! I’ve seen it and tasted it a few times.
What is your favorite family/friend’s tradition?
My husband’s family loves to play pranks on one another and on holidays/birthdays there are always games with prizes. After a visit with my brother-in-law I am never surprised to find avocado pits in the most random places (e.g., inside my shoe, in my pillowcase, in my wallet). When there are laughter and joy, pranks and playing games together makes being with a group (like family!) all that more fun. It takes the pressure off family get-togethers and creates a positive space to connect and enjoy one another. My husband and I are putting the same traditions into practice with our own kids.
What’s the greatest bit of advice a friend, family member, or mentor has given you?
Waiting in line at the grocery store once, a stranger saw me with my toddler and said: “The days are long, the years are short.” Being a working mom I find that I’m often just trying to get through this week. Then the next. Then the next. Suddenly my oldest daughter is 5 and I’ve got crows feet! It’s a great reminder to take those little moments on a regular basis and pause. Be present. So many beautiful moments in life are fleeting and should be savored.
